About the Trial Edition -------------------------- This Trial Edition comprises the first four weeks of the Retail Edition of the game, giving you what we believe to be a representative sample of both the writing and gameplay of the Retail Edition. Unlike the Retail Edition, the Trial Edition has no voices; also, since this is a Trial Edition, it is provided "as is", without any warranty express or implied, and without technical support of any kind. ---------------------- 1. System Requirements ---------------------- 【OS】 Windows 2000/XP with Japanese Language Support 【CPU (Required / Recommended)】 Pentium II 450MHz+ / Pentium III 800 MHz+ 【RAM】 Windows 2000: 96MB or greater Windows XP: 128MB or greater 【Screen Display】 16-bit color at 800x600 screen resolution 【Sound】 Full voice PCM --------------- 2. Installation --------------- Double-click on the file "TrueTearsTrialSetup[insani].exe". The installer will launch, and will take you through the necessary steps for installation. After that, you will find shortcuts in your Start Menu and on your Desktop that will allow you to start up the game itself. ----------------------------------- 3. Limitations of the Trial Edition ----------------------------------- The following limitations apply: ●You cannot save or load. 　・Thus, the "Load" option in the Title Menu is completely nonfunctional. 　・You cannot choose the "Autosave" option from the Options Menu. 　・You cannot "Save" or "Load" from the Right-Click Menu. ●The "Album" is nonfunctional. ●Summary Mode is nonfunctional. 　・You cannot enable this functionality from the Options Menu. 　・You cannot enable it from the Right-Click Menu, either. ●As there are no character voices, the mute/unmute character options in the Options Menu is nonfunctional. ●You cannot change your protagonist's name. ●The order of events has been changed in order to give the player a more diverse sample in the Trial Edition. The order of events may be different in the Retail Edition. --------------------------------- 4. About this English Translation --------------------------------- This is an unofficial, completely unauthorized English translation of the Trial Edition of "true tears". This Trial Edition was not distributed online, and only came with certain editions of certain magazines as well as the disk that came bundled with the "true tears First Fanbook" (which the lead translator owns). We feel relatively ethically justified in releasing this translation to the masses; however, should the original rights holders contact us, we would be more than willing to stop distribution of this Trial Edition at any time. Furthermore, should Broccoli or Circus make a strong commitment to officially bringing this game to the English speaking world, we shall cease distribution of this unofficial localization at once.
